Requisitos

Candidates should have a PhD in Political Science or a related field by May 1, 2026 or soon thereafter. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research in International politics, appropriate to their career stage, in the form of publications in high-impact journals, awards or other scholarly achievement.  Applicants must demonstrate a rigorous empirical research plan that includes evidence of potential for successful external funding. The successful candidate will help to advance Western’s Strategic Plan: https://strategicplan.uwo.ca/.

The successful candidate will also have a track record or superior potential for teaching in Political Science, appropriate to their career stage. They will be able to deliver a range of courses across the undergraduate and graduate programs in the department. As Western Political Science aims to be Canada’s top destination for training in empirical research methods, the ability to teach empirical research methods, qualitative, quantitative, or mixed, will be considered an asset. The candidate will have a teaching philosophy that demonstrates a strong plan for future teaching contributions to the Department. Consistent with Western’s goals of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization (EDI-D), the successful candidate should articulate how their plans for teaching and research further the principles of EDI-D.
