Requisitos: Applicants who wish to develop a project on one of the following topics: 

1) feelings of national identification among immigrants and ethnocultural minorities 

2) the place of immigration and ethnocultural diversity in the construction of national identity within the host society

Priority will be given to projects focusing on Quebec and/or any other multinational states, but proposed projects may also focus on other case studies. The successful candidates will work in collaboration with Antoine Bilodeau and/or Mireille Paquet.

Comentarios: The Immigration Research Initiative (IRI) located in the Department of Political Science at Concordia University (Montreal) announces its Doctoral Visiting Fellowship competition. IRI is seeking applications for three 3-month doctoral fellowships for 2025 in the field of immigration. Funded by the Secrétariat du Québec aux relations canadiennes, IRI’s objective is to build bridges between immigration research in Quebec and elsewhere in the world. Its Doctoral Visiting Fellowship program is designed to support doctoral students who are conducting or who wish to conduct a research project related to IRI’s mission. The award is worth CAN$ 8000 to cover travel and living expenses while at Concordia University and is paid in two instalments during the research stay in Montreal. Selected candidates must be present at Concordia University for a period of 3 months and must complete their stay before December 20, 2025. Priority will be given to candidates available for a stay between January and June 2025, or between September and December 2025. IRI’s scholarships are intended for doctoral students whose home university is located outside of Quebec. Applications from outside Canada are strongly encouraged. Selected candidates will organize a seminar with the help of Antoine Bilodeau and Mireille Paquet, at which they will present their research. They will also be integrated into the activities of the Équipe de recherche sur l’immigration dans le Québec actuel.
