Requisitos:

PhD Position in the Research Group of Professor Lucas Leemann: 

A MA/MSc in political science ideally with a focus on Comparative Politics. – Interest in representation, political behavior, or democratic institutions. Strong interest in academic research and motivation to pursue an academic career. Excellent knowledge of quantitative methods as well as an interest in further developing methodological skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team. Strong command of English. 

PhD Position in the Research Group of Professor Thomas Widmer

A MA/MSc in political science (or in a related discipline). Strong interest in the fields of public policy, evaluation and/or Swiss politics. Solid training in social science methods (preferably qualitative and quantitative). Ability to work both independently and in a team and to be flexible and adaptable. Strong command of German and English; knowledge of French and/or Italian is an asset. 

Postdoc Position in the Research Group of Professor Lucas Leemann

A PhD in a social science discipline (e.g., political science, economics, sociology) or a related field with a clear connection to social sciences. A strong interest in academic research, ideally proven through internationally visible publications, third-party funding, or related research activities. Dedication, ability to work in a team, and ability to work independently. Strong command of English.Essential skills: Strong methodological skills and willingness to keep learning how to use new tools. – Experience with machine learning and/or data engineering. Desired skills: Experience with small-area estimation or non-representative data (e.g., using MRP models). Experience with geo-spatial data. Experience in dealing with missing data and strategies to overcome this problem. 

 Postdoc Position in the Research Group of Professor Fabrizio Gilardi

PhD in political science or a related discipline (completed or close to completion). Interest in the field of digital technology and politics; background in public policy or policy analysis is an asset.Ambition and ability to produce high-quality and high-impact research, both independently and in a team. Ability to work constructively and effectively as part of a research team.Proficiency in quantitative research methods, preferably causal inference and/or computational social science. Very good command of English; working knowledge of German is an asset.

Student-Assistant – Professor Karsten Donnay

The position is ideal for MA students with strong quantitative skills and prior experience working with text data. More generally, the position is a starting point for all of those students, who would like to get hands-on experience in academic research projects. Applicants for this position should meet the following requirements. Completed BA in political science (or equivalent). Currently enrolled in a political science MA program. Good overall study performance. Excellent statistical skills and experience working with R/RStudio. Strong prior knowledge of text-mining/ NLP approaches. High degree of self-motivation and excellent work ethics. Knowledge of Python is an asset Language requirements English
